You've seen 3D design platforms. You've seen file repositories. You've seen marketplaces where you download an STL and figure out the rest yourself.
FabFlow's Marketplace is different. It's not just a place to share designs — it's a place where your designs come to life.
Today we're announcing the FabFlow Marketplace — a fundamental new layer in the FabFlow ecosystem. And it's something that, frankly, doesn't exist anywhere else.
Beyond File Sharing
Platforms like MakerWorld and Printables are incredible for discovering designs. You browse, you download, you slice, you print — assuming you have a printer. If you don't, you're out of luck. If your printer can't handle the build volume, you're out of luck. If you want it in a different material, you're out of luck.
The FabFlow Marketplace solves this at the root. Instead of being a file repository, it's a manufacturing network.
Every design on the Marketplace is immediately manufacturable. When you browse a project, you're not looking at an STL you'll have to figure out how to print later — you're looking at something you can request to be made, right then and there, by verified manufacturers within the FabFlow network.
The Key Difference: Request Manufacturing
This is the feature that sets us apart.
On the FabFlow Marketplace, every project page includes a "Request Manufacturing" button. Click it, and your design flows directly into the FabFlow job system — the same engine that powers thousands of manufacturing transactions on our platform.
What happens next? Real manufacturers with real machines see your request. They quote it. You accept. They make it. You get it delivered.
No packing. No shipping headaches. No sourcing materials yourself. No wondering if your printer can handle it.
You focus on creating. We handle the rest.
This isn't trivial. Behind that button is a full job workflow — quoting, acceptance, production tracking, delivery coordination, and payment handling. It's the same infrastructure we've been building for institutional and commercial manufacturing, now available to every creator on the Marketplace.
Empowering Creators, Nurturing Tinkering
The Maker Movement has always been about one thing: the freedom to build. But somewhere along the way, the friction of going from design to finished part stopped being exciting and started being a barrier.
- Need a custom enclosure for your IoT project? Request it.
- Designed a jig for your workshop but don't have a CNC? Request it.
- Prototyping a mechanical assembly across five iterations? Request each one, get it made, test it, refine it.
When manufacturing is as easy as clicking a button, you stop worrying about logistics and start spending your energy where it matters — designing, iterating, and creating.
This is how we nurture the next generation of builders. By removing the friction between idea and object.
Future Builder's Platform
We believe the best innovations come from people who have the freedom to experiment. The FabFlow Marketplace is designed to be a future builder's platform:
- Students can prototype projects without needing access to a workshop
- Hobbyists can bring their designs to life without investing in machinery
- Startups can iterate rapidly on physical prototypes without setting up production lines
- Educators can run hands-on design courses without worrying about fabrication logistics
- Tinkerers — the heart of the maker movement — can just make
Current Status: Beta
The Marketplace is currently in beta. We're starting with 3D printing and fabrication capabilities available through our network of verified manufacturers. You can browse projects, explore designs, and request manufacturing for parts you need.
What's coming next:
- Revenue sharing for designers — We're building a model where creators who upload popular projects can earn when their designs are manufactured. Full details coming soon.
- Advanced quoting — Material selection, finish options, quantity discounts — all within the request flow.
- Community features — Build logs, design remixes, collaborative projects.
- Expanded manufacturing capabilities — Beyond 3D printing into CNC, laser cutting, PCB fabrication, and more.
What Makes Us Different

This isn't just a feature update — it's a philosophical difference. We don't believe a marketplace should end at the download button. We believe it should end when you're holding the part in your hands.
